This procedure is done under local anaesthesia. The patient is awake and can talk to the surgeon during surgery. He can watch the surgery live if he wants. The procedure lasts around 1-2 hours long. The main attraction of the surgery is small incision which is 1-2 cm only. The disc is removed using specialised instruments and machinery. After the surgery the patient walks to his room and the discharge process is started. The patient can get admitted, operated and discharged the same day. This procedure is good for people who are afraid of general anaesthesia or are not fit for it.
